Why install a camera system?

Also called a security camera system or CCTV, cameras can be installed at your home or at work (office, factory etc.).

The benefit of cameras is that they discourage malicious activities. Ideally cameras should be placed in a visible location to discourage wrongdoers.

In the event of a problem it is possible to view the footage and provide evidence. If the cameras are filming a public place an online declaration is needed.

A camera system can also be used to monitor people entering or leaving a shop, to check cashing up, to read licence plates or control access to certain areas.
Cameras are often combined with a badge-operated access control system to ensure that only those with authorisation enter the premises.
